Yesterday, Skalleagues from all over the globe celebrated the official inauguration of a new Skal World President, Christchurch’s own Peter Morrison, who was officially ‘chained’ at a celebration lunch in Christchurch.
The chains were introduced by Daniela Otero, CEO of Skal International and bestowed upon Peter by former World Presidents, Tony Boyle, Phil Sims and Max Kingston (picture below). Peter is president for the 2020 year.
The lunch, which was held at the Commodore Airport Hotel in Christchurch, was organised by the Christchurch Club who were also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the club. There was a huge attendance by Christchurch Club members and all the New Zealand clubs had at least one representative at the lunch.
A warm welcome was extended to Skål International Council members who travelled to Christchurch for the event.
Skal New Zealand’s ANZAC friends from Skal International Australia attended in force, as did the President from Skal Pattaya.
Thank you to Skal Christchurch for organising such a fantastic event and to the Commodore Hotel for providing a lovely venue (and great weather).
