Skal Christchurch makes a significant donation to the Christchurch City Mission to help ease the pain of families over the Christmas break.

Just prior to Christmas the SKAL International Club donated a cheque for $5,000 to the City Mission to help alleviate the pain of Christmas stress and the need for food parcels throughout the holidays. The money was raised at a charity auction lunch in December where over 100 people from the Christchurch tourism and hospitality sector gathered to celebrate the festive season and raise money for the Mission. ‘Our club has supported our local City Mission for several years but this year our members dug deep to raise a significant sum after reading the media reports of people being turned away from some food banks in New Zealand at such a stressful time of the year ‘said Bruce Garrett, President of Skal Christchurch. I am proud of what the Skal Christchurch Club has been able to give back to the community and help alleviate the pain of rising costs for local families.
