Skål International Rotorua # 591
It is appropriate that Rotorua has a welcoming Skal club as Rotorua is the birthplace of modern day tourism in New Zealand. Victorian-era tourists flocked to the then famous Pink and White Terraces on the shores of Lake Rotomahana. Unfortunately the Terraces were destroyed in the violent Mt. Tarawera eruption of 1886 but tourism prevailed in the region as other geo-thermal features become more accessible. The Maori Te Awara tribe epitomise hospitality and warmly share their culture and traditions to this day.
Update: April 2020 - The Rotorua club is currently in hiatus. For further detail please contact the National Secretary, Geoff Beaver
