Skal Queenstown Kicks Off 2020 With First Meeting

Skal International Queenstown held their first meeting of the year on Monday 10th February - a breakfast at swanky Botswana Butchery in Queenstown.

The group welcomed Skal member and treasurer from the Te Tauihu club, Craig Wilson.

The theme of the meeting was “Reading the Tea Leaves” which allowed members to have a free flowing discussion on issues of immediate interest. Given the events of the last few weeks the conversation quickly came around to member perspectives over the impacts of Coronavirus, the road closures – especially into Milford Sound – following last week’s downpour, Great Walks and other walking track closures, domestic tourism opportunities, airline schedules, and forward bookings for the 2020 ski season.

Joining in the conversation, from left to right, Erna Spijkerbosch David Gatward-Ferguson, Tim Hunter, Sharon Salmons, Rob Burnell, Frank Gibbons, Peter Howe, Craig Wilson, Peter Davies, Penny Clark, and Trish May – taking photo. “
